Haven House to Receive $5,000 in Free Media Services

March 6th, 2006

RIO RANCHO, NM…. Haven House, a domestic violence shelter and victims’ advocacy non-profit group, will receive media services to produce a video awareness program, as part of Edit House Productions, LLC’s fifth anniversary project. In recognition of five years in business as Rio Rancho’s first media production company and advertising agency, Edit House Productions, LLC announced in December they would provide $5,000 in media services to a non-profit organization in 2006. “We received applications from 29 non-profit groups, all of whom do great work to serve the needs of New Mexicans,” said Ed Smith, owner. “Our five member selection panel focused on organizations that provide critical human services which are being stretched thin, due to the rapid growth of Rio Rancho and Sandoval County.”

Executive Director of Haven House, Dianne Torrance, said the in-kind grant will allow Haven House to educate those who might need their services, as well as the general public. “This project will help in our efforts to serve the victims of domestic violence, which generates the most calls to the Rio Rancho police department.” Haven House is the only domestic violence shelter in Sandoval County. Need for their services has increased greatly and the non-profit organization is planning an expansion of the facility.

“We feel very fortunate to have grown our digital media facility so much over the past five years,” said Ed Smith. “Because Rio Rancho’s been our home for many years, we’re pleased to give back to our community by helping a non-profit organization that could benefit from our media and marketing knowledge.”

Smith formed Edit House Productions, LLC in December 2000. Clients include Relay New Mexico, Z-CoiL® Footwear, Accent Windows, the NM State Police, Hearing Health Care Centers, and a number of automotive and retail companies across New Mexico and the United States.
